During 2020 the number of young people out of school and out of work (opportunity youth) skyrocketed, surpassing 10 million. In response, a myriad of programs helped young people find food, survival income, and even reconnect to school and work.

Jointly organized by the American Youth Policy Forum (AYPF) and the National Youth Employment Coalition (NYEC), this conversation, Connecting Youth to Jobs, During and After the Pandemic, will focus on adaptations and successes during the pandemic – and what they tell us about how to achieve an equitable recovery.

The Economic Recovery for Young Adults Series is hosted by the American Youth Policy Forum, in Partnership with the Center for Law and Social Policy, the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, The Corps Network, the Forum for Youth Investment, Heartland Alliance, Jobs for the Future, the National Network for Youth, the National Youth Employment Coalition, Opportunity Youth United, and the Reconnecting Youth Campaign.
